Save second Wednesdays this fall at 5pm for online guest speaker events. Online guest speakers for the semester will include: Corey Singletary, CFP from Merrill Lynch to discuss tips for passing the CFP Exam. In October we host Frank Magwegwe, a financial planner from South Africa to learn about financial services there. In November we welcome Dana Chitwood to discuss the Accredited Financial Counselor certification and her work with the Department of Defense.
Congratulation to CSM Assistant Professor K.T. Kim who co-authored the paper “Exploring the Demand for Financial Advice: The Role of Financial Literacy” which has been selected to win the CFP Paper Award for the 2016 ACCI conference. The award will be presented at the upcoming conference this June.

This webinar provides exam candidates with a review of changes that will be implemented with the March 2016 CFP® Certification Examination, and guidance on how best to prepare for the exam. Presented by Isabelle Gonthier, Ph.D., CFP Board's Director of Examinations, this webinar details changes that result from the 2015 Job Task Analysis, including updates to the exam blueprint and changes in the reporting of exam results.

Presented by CFP Board, this webinar will review the online registration process with CFP Board and scheduling your testing appointment with Prometric. In addition, it will cover the full exam day experience beginning with the check-in process and proceeding through to interpreting your preliminary and final exam results.

The FPA chapter of North Alabama will host the Financial Planning Expo 1-5 on Tuesday, October 6 at the Hoover Public Library. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org by September 15 if you would like to volunteer.
The UA Career Fair is September 23rd from 11-4 at Coleman Coliseum. All students are welcome, professional dress is required.
The list of employers/vendors that are attending can be found on Crimson Careers. Access your account by logging into myBama, clicking on the student tab, and scrolling down to Crimson Careers. Once logged in, you’ll see “Fall 2015 Career Fairs” on the right side. This is where you may see the list of employers attending, company info, and positions they’re hiring for. You may RSVP if you’d like to attend but it isn’t required to do so ahead of time and you should bring your student ID and copies of your resume. Companies like Raymond James that want to hire our majors will be there so mark your calendars. You may direct questions to Amy Bramlett 205.348.5848 in the UA Career Center.
